Toots & Trots / Does it matter?
Oat milk or almond milk on your cereal — does it matter?
Neither carries lactose, so both sidestep the usual dairy problem. The difference is what's left: oat milk brings oat FODMAPs and more sugar, while almond milk is thinner and carries very little of either. Over a splash in your coffee it hardly registers, but a full glass on cereal is a bigger pour and the gap shows up.
Scores use a standard reference serving via the GASP model. Individual tolerance varies.
A small difference — mainly gas.
If you notice wind and bloating, Almond milk is the gentler pick. If you're tolerating both well, it probably doesn't matter.
